The Sunflower classroom makes each day a fun and safe learning environment for each child. The teachers plan activities each week that reflect the children’s needs and desire to explore the world around them. In our classroom, you will see our children coloring and painting, stacking blocks to make towers, reading books and lots of laughter. You will also see teachers interacting with children and encouraging vocabulary as they speak gently and discuss what is going on in their worlds.

Spending time outside immersed in nature is important to our classroom. We encourage gross motor skills by teaching and supporting children as they climb the tire structure and the slides and blow bubbles as children chase them. Children make music outside, explore the garden and dig holes in the sand while they practice filling and dumping buckets.

Teachers work closely with the parents to ensure each child’s individual needs are met every day. Open and honest communication between teachers and families is an integral part of the Sunflowers classroom.
